Complete Childhood Vaccination Schedule for Malaysian Parents
Vaccinating your child is one of the most important health decisions you will make as a parent. Vaccines protect children from serious, sometimes life-threatening, diseases — and they help create herd immunity that protects the wider community, including babies too young to be vaccinated.
MOH Immunisation Schedule (Key Milestones)
Key milestones include: At birth — Hepatitis B (1st dose) and BCG for tuberculosis. At 2 months — DTaP, IPV (polio), Hib, and Hepatitis B (2nd dose). At 12 months — MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella). At 18 months — DTaP booster and MMR booster. At 7 years — dT booster.
Optional but Recommended Vaccines
Beyond the national programme, we also recommend the Varicella (chickenpox) vaccine, Pneumococcal vaccine, and Rotavirus vaccine, particularly for children attending daycare.
What to Expect After Vaccination
Mild fever and soreness at the injection site are common and usually resolve within 1 to 2 days. Paracetamol can be given for comfort. If your child develops a high fever above 39 degrees Celsius or has unusual symptoms, consult your doctor promptly.
Bring your child's immunisation booklet to every visit. TNF Clinic offers all childhood vaccinations starting from RM 80.
